The Aquatic Plant Collection covers an area of 1.2 ha and is home to over 100 species of aquatic plants belonging to floating plants, emerged plants, errantia plants, submerged plants and wetland plants. A lot of lotus and water lilies can be seen here. In China, lotus is considered a graceful plant as “it remains pure even though it grows out of mud”. The most attractive plant in this collection is the giant water lily or king lotus (as) that is native to the shallow waters of the Amazon River Basin.
