A leaf flower (Bougainvillea) exhibition is ongoing at the Flower Garden of Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG). This exhibition features over 80 varieties of leaf flowers, including double-petaled, tower-like, lantern-like, butterfly-like, sparrow-like, multi-colored, dark-spotted, cherry blossom, and so on, with over 400 pots. In addition, there are over 1,000 pots of nearly a hundred old staked seedlings.
This flower exhibition is not only a feast for Bougainvillea flowers, but also a celebration of "garden wood art". In the midst of the flowers, over 30 handicrafts such as Dai-style wooden houses, little rabbits, owls with furry heads, deer, carriages, and dolls were all made by the garden staff using fallen trees.
"As the sun sets, a thousand stars appear; when a tree falls, ten thousand things come to life." After the death of a tree, it continues to exist in another form through the carving and polishing of gardeners, experiencing the world's changing seasons and myriad transformations. Just like the resilient and striving spirit of the leaf flowers.
It’s the right time to appreciate the the beautiful scenery of prosperous flowers in winter in the Flower Garden of XTBG. It will last from January to February 28.
