Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) is holding its first tropical rainforest ecological photography exhibition from July 20 to October 15. The 66 photos on display mainly show plants and insects in tropical rainforest of Xishuangbanna.
Themed with “Xishuangbanna-- yearning in the heart”, the exhibition shows beauty and dignity of plants and animals in the world. Some participating photographers brought their award-winning works for the International Nature Photography Contest to the exhibition. Visitors will feast their eyes these amazing photography works.
Mr. Yuan Minghui, a well-known wildlife photographer, spoke at the exhibition. He said that Xishuangbanna is rich in plant and animal resources, which provides numerous opportunities to shoot the beauty of nature. He hopes that creative discoveries will cause emotional changes to the viewer, and he believes that images play an important role in natural environmental protection.
XTBG is recognized as a paradise for plants and animals. Up to now, it is home to over 13000 plant species. 63 beast species, 315 bird species, 45 reptiles, 27 amphibians, and 468 butterflies have been recorded in the garden. “More exhibitions and other popular science programs are to be brought to the visitors soon,” said Liu Guangyu in charge of center for environmental education.
