A photo exhibition named Beauty of Rainforest, showing the biodiversity of Menglun Town, is ongoing in Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) from January 1 on. It is part of the activities to greet the New Year 2023.The exhibition displayed 331 photos of biodiversity in the Menglong Town where XTBG is located.   

In 2022, XTBG and the local government organized photo competitions. They invited members of the public to help them highlight the breath of biodiversity on Menglun Town by participating in the photo competition. From shrubs and trees, to mammals and amphibians, and even insects of all shapes and sizes, each entry served as a visual reminder of why protecting biodiversity is so important.  

Among the 4500 entries from the Menglun and XTBG biodiversity photo contests, 331 photos were selected to show in this exhibition, to show beauty of the tropical rainforest to the public. 

Prof.Gan Fanyuan, CPC secretary and deputy director of XTBG, declared open of the exhibition on January 1.
