A photo show of wild edible flowers of Xishuangbanna is ongoing at Tropical Rainforest Ethnic Culture Museum of Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) from November 24 on. It aims to bring visitors to experience the rich biodiversity of Xishuangbanna, especially flowers than can be cooked into delicacy.

Xishuangbanna, a Dai Autonomous Prefecture, is an area with high floristic and cultural diversity. The 13 ethnic groups, including Dai, Hani, Jinuo, Ake, Yao, and Yi, have been settled in this area for more than 1000 years. All native ethnic groups have close relationship with natural forest and thus have developed knowledge systems related to the use and conservation of natural resources. Wild vegetables are traditionally an important resource for ethnic groups' subsistence.

This time, 27 wild edible flowers are selected on display, with introduction to cook methods. Through this exhibition, visitors may have a better understanding on the ethnic culture of Xishuangbanna, especially on edible flowers.
