Exhibition of works by local artists opens at XTBG

An exhibition of works by local artists of Xishuangbanna will be on display at Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) from April 28 to June 20. It is aimed to showcase the beauty of diverse Xishuangbanna and provide a platform for local artists to meet, share their knowledge and expertise, in addition to bring links to science and art. 

“We owe our thanks to XTBG for providing such a nice platform. We six artists live in Xishuangbanna and have been nurtured by the tropical rainforest. We’d like to show the beauty and culture of rainforest through our works,” said artist Zhang Jianyun at the opening ceremony. 

Prof. Yang Yongping, deputy director of XTBG, sent congratulations to the exhibition. He hoped joint promotion of science and art and popularization of rainforest culture via the exhibiton .  

60 original art works by 6 local artists (including He Ruihua and Chen Wenyou) of XTBG are presented to the public. 

The participating artists jointly completed a Chinese painting featuring beauty of natural orchids on spot.
