A photograph show themed with “XTBG and Biodiversity” is on display at the Tropical Rainforest Ethnic Culture Museum to celebrate the International Museum Day (IMD) on May 18. The theme of the 40th International Museum Day is Museums for Equality: Diversity and Inclusion. It aims at becoming a rallying point to both celebrate the diversity of perspectives that make up the communities and personnel of museums, and champion tools for identifying and overcoming bias in what they display and the stories they tell. Rich in plant and animal diversity, Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) aims to increase public awareness of biodiversity conservation through beautiful images at the show. Images can serve as an important source of knowledge and discovery for many, especially learning XTBG as a research base for biodiversity and ecology, and camp for tropical plants. The exhibition is featured with photos of some peculiar plants and animals such as Parashorea chinensis, Hodgsonia macrocarpa, Tacca chantrieri, parasitic flower, orchid mantis, and milk-providing spider (Toxeus magnus), etc. Tour guide introducing photos.
