The Environmental Education Center of Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) was inaugurated on January 3, as part of the celebration for the 60^th anniversary. CAS Academicians Xu Zhihong, Zhou Jun, Sun Handong, and Prof. Chen Jin were invited to unveil the nameplate. 

The Environmental Education Center is located at the western area within XTBG. It is a comprehensive platform integrating laboratories of science exploration, nature education hall, exhibition of “Art meets science”, science instruments, history museum, artist area, etc. 

Its main functions include environmental education research and practice, to enhance environmental awareness. It is also responsible for science communication, environmental education, propaganda, website management and internet service and training courses, etc.
