As a part of the celebrations for the 60th anniversary of Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG), the exhibition named “When Art meets Science” will be held on January 1, 2019.

The exhibition will showcase 124 paintings featuring some of the garden’s most eye-catching attractions and even tropical rainforest culture. It aims to provide novel perspectives to visitors wanting to learn about nature and scientists trying to understand art.

The rich colors and green plants are lingering charms for artists. Many of them come to sketch over a decade, which reflects that XTBG is “a site of artistic pilgrimage”, in addition to being a scientific base for tropical biologists.

The “When Art Meets Science” exhibition becomes a biennial event since its first launch in 2016 in XTBG.

Following are some paintings to be on show on the New Year’s Day of 2019.
