One of the characteristics of the XTBG Kindergarten is get children outdoors to explore the natural world and engage the kids in the wonders of learning. The rich living collections within the garden provide perfect environment for children to learn and connect with nature. The children in XTBG Kindergarten were led to meet animals which live in, on, and around trees and how they depend on plants to survive n mid December. “Where do you live?” a teacher asked the kids. A teacher told the kids that some animals live on plants where they can get all the things they need to survive (i.e. a habitat). The kids were told to find ants, spiders, and some birds in the Flower Garden after they were shown ants in the bottle, leaflets with spiders, flash cards of birds and videos of bird sounds. Guided by popular science staff of XTBG, the kids had a closer connect with nature. Up to now, 32 popular science activities have been conducted for kids in XTBG Kindergarten.
