As a National Popular Science Education Base, Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) offers kinds of popular science activities, especially in summer and winter holidays. From late January on, XTBG is experiencing a peak period of winter camps for pupils and middle school students from all over the country. XTBG designs a lot of fun and learning games for the participants, including lectures, tour in tropical rainforest, work with professional staff and graduate students, night tours, observation on ants and insects, plant identification, seed collecting, plant seeking, green orienting, etc. Many graduate students (representatives of almost all of the research groups) also volunteered to the winter camp. They designed a lot of wise experiments to lead the kids and students to engage in scientific activities and learn science methods. The beautiful landscape, rich science atmosphere, well organized activities attract more and more teenagers to spend their winter holiday in XTBG.
