Numerous enthusiastic birdwatchers, bird or environment protection organizations gathered together in XTBG during January 1-2 for the 4th birdwatching festival. Guided trips,workshop sessions, bird monitoring, environmental education activities attracted a lot of visitors. The exhibition booths were also of interest to many tourists. 60 students from Menglun Middle School were especially involved in the environmental education activities. The lush trees make Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) an ideal location for birds to nest and lay their guides. According to observation and statistics by bird lovers, more than 200 bird species are found in the garden. XTBG is also a right place for bird watching expeditions.
