Water and Biodiversity is the theme for International Day for Biological Diversity (IDB) in 2013, with the objective to raise awareness about this vital issue, and to increase positive action. In order to raise the public awareness of conserving biodiversity, XTBG offers special tours guided by the director, deputy directors and research staff on IDB each year since 2009.

This year, the special expert our guides were composed of Li Hongwei, Li Qingjun, and some other volunteer experts. Many tourists were surprisingly lucky for being shown around the beautiful living collections of XTBG. The amazing dancing grass, cauliflowers, miracle fruits were vividly introduced.

While introducing the plants and scenic spots, the volunteer tour guides combined their research expertise, which impressed the visitors deeply and encouraged them to know the importance of conserving biological diversity.

The wildlife watching activities, for example, bird watching, observing butterflies and frogs, and seeking fireflies, etc were also recommended to the visitors by volunteer experts.
