On March 2, a launching ceremony for “The Beautiful Xishuangbanna --exhibition of Chinese meticulous painting” was held at XTBG. The activity was sponsored by the Academy of Contemporary Chinese Meticulous Painting Art.

Xishuangbanna is well-known not only as kingdom of plants and kingdom of animals but also for its rich cultural landscape resources.  Many people are attracted by its tropical rainforest, palm leaves buddhism sutra culture, song and dance culture, diverse festivals of minority nationalities, marriage customs of ethnic groups, religious culture, folk arts and crafts, etc. Over the past decades, more and more artists came to paint or sketch from nature, or sketch and depict on the life of Dai nationality in Xishuangbanna.

“Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) has become a hot destination for artists to paint or sketch over the past years, thanks to its beautiful landscape and diverse plant species”, said Li Hongwei, CPC secretary of XTBG, at the opening ceremony.

A batch of classic works of traditional Chinese realistic painting is expected to be produced, according to the sponsor.
