The 3rd bird watching festival of XTBG held during January 1-2 attracted many bird-watching societies and environmental organizations including World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) and International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) and bird enthusiasts. The birding festival offered birders an opportunity to see new species, improve their skills and meet new friends.

The bird watching festival was open to the public with various organized activities from guided trips to workshop sessions, bird monitoring, environmental education activities for parents and children, among many other things. The exhibition booths were also of interest to many tourists. 40 students from Menglun Middle School were especially involved in the environmental education activities.

From January 5 on, some bird watching activities will be organized for the staff members and students on weekends.
