The second bird watching festival of XTBG was opened on the New Year day of the 2012. The festival attracted over 3,000 visitors and 18 bird conservation organizations from Beijing, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Henan and other places to exhibit their own work.

The bird watching festival was sponsored by the Swarovski Optical Telescope, a world top brand telescope manufacturer.

Many bird lovers came to XTBG to observe birds and learn knowledge concerning bird conservation.

During the bird watching festival on January 1-2, a bird photography exhibition was displayed in the Tropical Rainforest Ethnic Culture Museum within XTBG. The photo exhibition was co-sponsored by XTBG and “bird net”, China's largest bird photography site. Visitors enjoyed many beautiful bird photos from across the country.

Some educational activities were also organized. Students from local middle school were given lectures on bird care and conservation.
