As the National Day holiday is coming, bird watching in Xishuangbanna goes into the best season (from October to February). All bird lovers are welcomed to watch birds in XTBG, the largest tropical botanical garden in China.

Up to now, about 170 bird species have been recorded by bird watching lovers. More species are waiting for your finding.

Pompadour Green-pigeon (Treron pompadora) is one of our most attractive bird species. It commonly appears from late September to late October, usually found at Cai Xitao Memorial, and Medicinal Plant Garden within XTBG.

The Pompadour Green Pigeon is a widespread resident bird in forests of tropical southern Asia. It is a stocky, medium-sized pigeon. The head is green to greenish-yellow, and the underparts are green. The crown, including the forehead is grey. The undertail coverts are mainly whitish or pale yellowish.

Some other beautiful bird species also start showing in XTBG. Please come and enjoy them!
