Prof. Feng Yulong of XTBG has been selected into the national “New Century Talents Project”, a key national plan aiming at cultivating young academic and scientific leading personnel with expertise in the fields which are badly needed by the key disciplines, key laboratories, engineering research centers and open laboratories of China.

　  Prof. Dr. Feng Yulong focused his research on invasion ecology and plant ecophysiology. His research observations have been published in PNAS (Proceedings of National Academy of Sciences of the United State of America), Planta, Biological Invasions, Oecologia, etc.

The lists of members who have been selected into the project are jointly issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Finance, National Development and Reform Commission, National Natural Science Foundation and Science and Technology Association of China.

806 National Talents are elected this year, of which 129 are from CAS.

 Prof. Dr. Li Qingjun was the first XTBG scientist who was awarded the national “New Century Talents Project” in 2004.
