Research interests

1)         Phylogeny and evolution of Orobanchaceae (including hemiparasitic Scrophulariaceae s.l., and non-parasitic Lindenbergia), with an emphasis on the evolution of parasitism.

2)         Evolution of floral diversity and specification of Pedicularis (Orobanchaceae) in the Himalaya-Hengduan Mountains regions.

3)         Assessing genetic diversity of extremely endangered species, and its application in conservation biology.

4)         Applications of DNA barcoding approach in species identification, the discovery of new species, community phylogeny, and conservation.

5)         Evolutionary variations and diversity of chloroplast genome in parasitic and carnivorous plants.
