Prof. Manuel T. Lerdau from the University of Virginia and Dr. Jeremy A. Miller from National Museum of Natural History of the Netherlands have been recently granted the CAS Visiting Professorship for Senior International Scientists (Visitng Professorship) and CAS Fellowship for Young International Scientists (Young Scientists Fellowship) respectively.

During his tenure, Prof. Manuel T. Lerdau will conduct joint research with the Ecological Evolution Group and Group for Plant Physiological Ecology. His research centers around fundamental questions of resource acquisition and allocation in plants and touches upon such topics as herbivory and tri-trophic interactions, atmospheric chemistry and air pollution, community and ecosystem impacts of biological invasions, and organismal controls over nutrient cycling.

As an expert on the systematics, behavior, and biodiversity of spiders, Dr. Jeremy A. Miller will cooperate with Dr. Charles Cannon’s lab to conduct studies.
