“Alstonia scholaris artificial propagation trial"awarded 3rd prize of S&T Progress

The demonstration project Alstonia scholaris plant resource investigation & artificial propagation trial” has been recently awarded the third prize of Yunnan Provincial Science & Technology Progress Award 2006. This demonstration project was jointly conducted by XTBG and a company.

 

  With both wild and cultivated Alstonia scholaris in Yunnan and Guangxi as research objects, the project has had comprehensive investigation on their biological characteristics, wild resources distribution, and traditional utilization. It has also carried out systematic studies on the seed collection, preservation, germplasm collection, artificial breeding and cultivation of Alstonia scholaris.

 

  The implementation of the project has brought high production value. The enterprises engaged in the processing of Alstonia scholaris got annual sale revenue of 40 million RMB and contributed total tax revenue of 12 million RMB to the nation over the past three years.
