Sino-Myanmar meeting on alternative planting to opium poppy held at XTBG

On July 17, representatives of Chinese Ministry of Public Security and Myanmar Interior Ministry gathered together at XTBG to discuss further cooperation plans on alternative planting to opium poppy in the boundary area, with regard to the issue of narcotics control.

Co-organized by the two ministries, the meeting was attended by major leaders concerned with narcotics control of the two sides. Such leaders as Mr. Zhang Xinfeng who’s deputy director of the China National Narcotics Control Commission and the vice minister of Public Security, and Mr. Phong Sw who’s Vice Minister of the Interior of Myanmar, and other relevant senior officials of both sides were present.

 

  XTBG deputy director Li Hongwei also participated in the meeting. He gave an overview of the Garden to the guests.
