The Plant Geography Lab (www.phylodiversity.net/fslik/) is looking for a research assistant to strengthen its research capacity. We are looking for candidates with an interest in botanical field work and plant taxonomy. A good background in plant ecology and molecular techniques would be advantageous for the position, but are not required. Since the Plant Geography Lab is an international group, English speaking skills should be good.

You would be working in a newly established, expanding research group that does exiting ecological and biogeographic research. There will be room to develop your own research capacities and work on improving your CV. The international character of our group will mean that you can build up a network with both Chinese and foreign researchers.

As a research assistant, you would be directly applied by Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The position includes housing and food allowance.

Please send an application letter explaining your interest for the position, a CV, and contact details of three references to Ms.Zhai Yanghong (zhaiyh@xtbg.ac.cn) and Prof. Ferry Slik (ferryslik@hotmail.com). If you have questions about the position you can contact Prof. Ferry Slik via email.
