Prof. Harald Schneider attended the 2nd Global Bioeconomy Summit held at Berlin (Germany) from April 18th to April 20th (see http://gbs2018.com/home/) as one of the discussion leaders of the workshop on “Innovation & Environment: Biodiversity for a sustainable and thriving Bioeconomy” in April 19 (see http://gbs2018.com/workshops/innovation-environment-biodiversity/ ).
The summit aimed to provide a discussion forum to experts with different backgrounds with special emphasised on collaboration between regions and disciplines. As a consequence, the plenary presentation and workshops explored different aspect to establish a bioeconomy at global, regional, and local levels.
Of special interest to XTBG were the workshops that explored conservation of biodiversity as a crucial component to achieve a sustainable bioeconomy. Information on the plenary presentation and workshops can be found at http://gbs2018.com .
